In Tiqqun‘s 1999 critical work, »Preliminary Materials for the Theory of the Young-Girl«, the collective coins the term »Young-Girl«, who essentially embodies consumerist culture. Intrigued by the their assertion that her »self is as thick as a magazine«, with TITEL-GIRLS GESUCHT!, CURRENT MATTER® explores pre-social media times, examining german Bravo Girl magazines from 1986 to 1996. The mission is to reveal artifacts representing the commodity »Girl« and decipher the enduring motifs shaping the essence of girly.
